after retrieving his belongings, mathis is in his usual outfit-- when she comes across him, he's finishing the last adjustments to it, tying a choker around his neck with a little sigh of relief, then reaching down to strap his knife in its usual place, holstered on his thigh.
much better. that lets him relax a little, finally, less tense as he gives the holster a final pat and leans back against the wall of (throws dart) the barn.]
[by now she's changed into the clothes she received as well - it's a formal white gown that would be very pretty if it wasn't slightly torn and very bloodstained. she glances his way.]
[here they are in the church! she's looking at the stained glass with a frown, but when she realizes she isn't alone, she's quickly moving to the other side of the room in the hopes that he'll be too far away to read the words showing on her skin.]
[well! today is bad! she's mostly keeping that sentiment out of her expression, though, instead looking thoughtful wherever they come across each other in the void. when she sees him:]
[she's walking along the beach when she sees him, pausing immediately. out of everyone, she's been hesitant about talking to him - even if she was focused, it's hard to ignore someone crying out the name of the person she was focused on killing. she wouldn't blame him if he were still upset. as such, she goes a bit still.]
[here we are... by the posters... she hasn't cleaned herself up after goat fight yet because she hurried here to see who it was, so there's scratches on her face and arms. she doesn't seem to be paying attention to it, though, more focused on the names as she silently stares.]
[she kept her distance from mathis yesterday - not because she was upset with him in any way, but she knows she isn't the best with comfort or tenderness. she decided it was probably best to let people who could help him more stay with him. today, though, when she sees him in the void, she pauses.]
[he's out here at the market, quietly looking things over; he still seems tired, maybe a little subdued, but thankfully we're not getting emotionshare blasted anymore! yippee.]

[hi. he's similarly keeping his distance, curled up at the far end of one of the pews and doing his best not to look over.
it's likely hard to read his, at this distance, but it is probably noticeable when they shift-- which is often.]

It's... it's all right, I...
[deep breaths.]
I know that it was... she didn't have to suffer any further.
[that it-- spared her from having to really fight one of them to the death, from hurting anyone else, from sitting there with it the whole night.
it still hurts that it happened. that he couldn't say goodbye. but that's... a selfish desire of his, anyway.]
