Ah... [ pulling out a tome from his satchel, being very careful with it. ] I got this at the start of the week, maybe some of these pages have come out of it?
A few people have seen it, but you can't make out a lot of the stuff in it. There's one part that can be made out, though - two ingredients, here, too, but one that's crossed out, the other has somethin' to do with eyes.
The line at the end is "...looking from within the darkness at me! I felt seen by the savior all the way to the pit of my soul."
[ the blurb:
The tome is full of empty and damaged pages, writing long worn away or destroyed by time and mites. But one page remains in somewhat readable state: an excerpt from an entry, which discusses a god-summoning ritual.
There are mentions of two possible ingredients that were to be used in the ritual. One is crossed out, though the details are impossible to make out for either, besides the mention of eyes. At the end, there is a partially worn journal entry:
"...looking from within the darkness at me! I felt seen by the savior all the way to the pit of my soul." ]
If the one that mentions eyes mentions being seen in its passage, th-then... if they're formatted similarly, the 'something smooth' is likely related to, um, armor? Something like an... exoskeleton, or shell, maybe, if it's also a form of body part?
I don't think either of ours would, either, though. One's a wing that gives off holy magic and moves sometimes, and the other is a millipede that's really unsettlin' and has way too many eyeballs on it.
[ She will go over to her stuff before coming back with a glass keepsake bottle that's plugged up with with a cork. There's a multichromatic lizard inside with ridges and fins. ]
Mr. Gale shared that one, the uhhh... [ stares off into the void for a moment. ] "...stretched toward Heaven! If I reached out, I knew it would beat forevermore, and our savior's life could never be extinguished."
Me, Hawke, and Lavi got letters that put together, now that we've got the format, "...stretched toward Heaven! If I reached out, I knew it would extend itself toward me, and I would feel the brush of our savior."

[this is a very organized journal damn]

What all has everyone wound up gettin' from these trips, anyways..? Maybe we can put some pieces in place with these lines.

[especially if they may be looking for a brain? hm.]
I only know what a couple of the things we have are, but I don't think the ones I'm aware of would fit.

I know Mr. Daan had a spine.

That's what I was thinking.

I got a tongue, and I have Kanda's -- which is a heart.

... glad he willed it to you, 'cause a heart's a big thing.

Your guess is as good as mine for what it's actually good for.
