[he's in the church for a little while, probably. he has also been to the swamp! where he was burned is now scarred black, with a red pulse beneath. like there's still something there, eating at him. that's fun.
[hewwo. mathis is out at the market, looking around idly; he's still quiet, still seems tired, but at least emotionshare isn't broadcasting everything! phew.]
[hi. he's back in the church, at the moment, checking on his plants; the mortuary has no windows, and he's relocated them back here from the house he and the boys have been staying in, since it won't be there tomorrow.
he's making sure the cactus is okay, before moving the orchid's pot to a different window.]
the layout of his room is similar to his attic bedroom in the mansion, with its angled ceilings and shelving built into the walls; it differs in the furnishings and decor, however, set up as a cozier, more nook-like space with hanging lights and multiple comfy spots to sit on the floor, books stacked neatly nearby. the bed is, similarly, very low to the floor, with pillows piled onto it. rain patters against the window, keeping the room from getting much natural light, but it's a little soothing if you like that kind of thing.
he settles onto the bed, frumpkin in his arms since he's apparently babysitting essek's cat for the moment.]
[ whoa! she's going to smile as she looks around. ]
This is very nice, Mathis! [ and there's frumpkin! ] I've been spending more time with Scratch lately, but cats are still the best.
[ she'll come over to pet pet frumpkin. ]
We have a pretty good idea on items and the words that match them, but they'll know more tomorrow. We are- they are preparing for a fight. Everything else that happened was us throwing reason out of the door...
w0 saturday
