Week 3, Monday

[ happy monday!! kate is in yet another new dress (how many does she have?? lots.) and checking out the new academy.

while exploring, she enters the room mathis is in, and... bends over, hand over her chest, catching her breath. evidently, she's been running all around the corridors and up and down stairs. she takes a deep breath and lifts her head. ]

Isn't this place incredible? I've never seen so many books in my life!

I wish we had more than a week. I'd like to read as many as I can...

I hope we can bring some back with us. I'd been hoping to find some books for a long time now.

So was I. I'd like to see if I can find some paper and ink, here, too...

I was thinking I might try writing again.

What kinds of things do you write?

I wrote a novel before, but that didn't work out the way I'd wanted it to... I decided I should try it again.

I think that's a wonderful idea. Do you know what you'd like to make it about?

I haven't decided yet, but I'm taking a little time to think about it. Maybe I'll try out a few shorter ones, first, if I have different ideas.

I hope you can find the inspiration to make something you'll be happy with. And if you do make something while you're here, I'd love to see it.

Well, do you have anything you'd want to read...? Maybe it'd be a good exercise, to write a shorter story using someone else's idea.

Hm. I usually read nonfiction... but I suppose I enjoy adventure stories. Tales of distant and unfamiliar lands...
