A- a bit... um, they're somewhat important at home, or at least... one type of flower is. Th-that book just happened to be here when my room manifested...
The lycoris flower, although... it always looks different, when I find it in books here. I've only ever seen black lycoris, and these all seem to be red.
[it would be difficult for many of them to leave, after all. it's difficult for him to know he can't return yet, that he'll need to wait it out so that he doesn't go right back into camille's grasp, a subject improved by scien's corrections.
after a moment, though, he gathers the nerve to ask-]
...I know. I'm still curious, but I'm aware enough that it wouldn't be a very good idea.
[he is but a twink, and even if he does go and learn to be a wizard, kanda's already explained how that might not matter, regardless of any other issues they have happening over there.]
If you can manage it, though, then once I know where I'll be going to wait until I can return home... you know you would be welcome. I'll miss seeing you.

[so of course he has a cozy book nook of a bedroom.]

Makes sense.
[it's a cozy place perfect for Mathis? Lavi will take a book out of curiosity]
Is this whole place like that? Shaped to everyone's whims?
no subject
[the book he picks up is-- not french, actually, this one is a book on flowers written in kanji.]
no subject
[okay but scien and lucas are weird? that's my personal opinion not Lavi's, who is distracted by the book]
Were you studying up on flowers?

[he'll slide the book back onto the shelf]
What kind of flower?
no subject
no subject
[huh]
If they're black... then maybe it's a genetic mutation or something?
no subject
[ooh you can fit sooo many toxins in those guys. anyway scien is fixing it. dw.
after a moment:]
I would say I'd like to ask about your plans now that everything is over, but... I likely don't need to, do I...?
no subject
He tilts his head at that,]
Is this your way of telling me that Scien's machine broke down...?
[he's joking but also?]
no subject
[aaaaa the immediate PANIK.]
I... I just meant that you were most likely returning, so it felt a little redundant to ask you what you would do...
no subject
he scratches his cheek]
Ah, yeah. Actually -- I only found out about the machine just now from Robin.
[no one told him during endgame but he knows now]
Not that it matters, I guess -- since I'm going back home.

after a moment, though, he gathers the nerve to ask-]
...Lavi, will you let me see you again?
no subject
...I don't know if I can.
[it's more of an admission than a denial.]
Yuu told me that I've been missing for four months, and he's farther ahead of me. So I'm not sure I'll be in a position to see anyone.
no subject
[oh kanda. oh buddy.]
no subject
[dryly, because sometimes a guy dies and you don't get to talk to him for weeks]
no subject
[GOD the dgms... everything kanda told him was concerning too!!]
no subject
...Even if things were fine with us, I still wouldn't want anyone to visit.
[but if mathis has talked to kanda about this already then he's probably heard the reasons]
